Dr. Nathan Byrd
PASTOR
Nathan's family have been members of MABC since they moved to Athens in 2000. He is married to Karen, a middle school Social Studies teacher in nearby Walton County. Karen has served MABC as our organist. They have three children: Sebastian, Nick, and Karlie.

Dr. Ginny Dempsey
ASSOCIATE PASTOR FOR STUDENTS
Dr. Ginny Dempsey, a native Athenian, joined the Milledge Avenue staff as Associate Pastor for Students in May of 2014. Ginny is an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and can be found at Sanford Stadium many Saturdays in the fall. Ginny is blessed to have an adopted daughter from China who is a teenager and plays volleyball, basketball, and soccer.

Rev. Tom Eggleston
MINISTER OF MUSIC
Rev. Tom Eggleston was born in Port Sulphur, Louisiana. His areas of interest include composing original anthems, hymns, songs, hymn arranging; children’s songs and stories; playing the ocarina (a globular flute), piano, trumpet; balloon sculpting; hula hooping; and babysitting his grandkids. Tom has been happily married to his wife, Delores, since 1978.

Dr. Betty Jones
55+ MINISTRIES DIRECTOR
Dr. Betty Jones joined our church staff in 2022 as the part-time, volunteer 55+ Ministry Director. Betty has been an MABC member since 1998. Betty has assembled a 55+ Care Team who, with her help, minister to and share Christ’s love for our older adults by identifying and reaching out to all members, especially those homebound or in care facilities to assure no one is forgotten.

Susannah Pearson
MINISTRY ASSOCIATE
Susannah and her husband have been members of MABC since they moved to Athens in 2021. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from the University of North Georgia. When she isn't at work, you'll likely find her outdoors on a hiking trail or at a campsite.

NURSERY COORDINATOR
